Measures of Student Achievement and Success

School Improvement Plans and Initiatives

Literacy and Numeracy continue to be a major focus at Cambridge Street Community Public School. In response to the recent Right to Read report, we are working closely with the OCDSB’s department of Program and Learning to implement best practice in reading instruction. In addition, we will be working closely with the Board’s central education team to close gaps in mathematics achievement as we come through the other side of the global pandemic.

Other Initiatives:

  • Students are part of the WITS (a peer victimization awareness and prevention program) and LEADS (a leadership and social responsibility program for students in Grade 4 to 6.)

  • The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa hosts an after school program Monday to Friday on site.

  • We host an EarlyON parent and baby support group M-F mornings

  • The Ottawa Public Library Bookmobile comes to Cambridge every Friday afternoon.

  • The International Language Program takes place every Saturday and during the month of July at Cambridge.

  • We are thankful to have several dedicated volunteer readers that come into the school weekly.
